The Hindu's invincible Goddess Durga. This one was made completely on Illustrator CS3 for an religious event called "Durga Puja Festival" held in Tokyo this year. It was used on an advertisement for a Hindu magazine in Japan.

What I can say about Kamiya? Well, she is a gorgeous japanese teacher. Its incredible to watch her explanations. She is the prettiest asian girl I've met so far in my life. Her name means "Valley of the Gods", so I suppose she must be an Goddess! That would explain a lot of things.
I just cant hold it, when I see such a beautiful woman and there is pencil and paper around I have to draw. Its a shame that my skills ain't that good yet to make a appropriate portrait of her beauty. But I do what I can right?
Of course that a picture would help. Painting from memory isn't the best way of make a portrait. Let's see if she let me take some pictures. ;)

From the "don't tell sensei" series, one more study made in class. Yeah, I know, it isn't Japanese grammar, but it's a cultural study anyway. Right?
Fukada Sensei, I love her face. A lot of oblique lines and interesting shapes. I just pay attention to whatever she says.

Every year Yamasa, the japanese school where I'm in, organizes an speech contest where all the advanced students has to participate with their own texts written in japanese. After the event the school gathers all written speeches into an book and distributes it for free. My teacher asked me to draw something for the cover, but didn´t say exactly what would be good.
I made an illustration representing everything most of the students likes about Japan, at least what I think they do. Starting by an gorgeous japanese girl wearing an samurai armor, representing the beautiful girls, that attracts most of the guys here, and the armor that represents the culture and martial arts. She is holding a banner where is written "japanese" in kanji, which is the language everybody is learning at the school. The symbol in her helmet is the symbol of the organization that holds Yamasa.
After done I realized that I've draw the girl very sexy, a thing that may shock the teachers in the school. So I done some modifications to cover some "fresh" excesses. I don´t know yet which one will be used. In the left side you can check out the first version.

I always liked the way that children's book tales hide ideals, symbolisms and values behind an apparently silly story. The knight versus a Dragon is one of the greatest. Yourself fighting against an invincible adversary in order to get where you want (sometimes comes with a princess as bonus).

Ok, I know I shouldn't do this, but I can't help it. Any small blank area in my lessons would do, so I can run away to wonderland where I can draw whatever I have in mind. In this case my sensei and a class-mate.
